ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Lack of investors crippling music activities in Ghana – Keche.

Music Duo Keche has said music business in Ghana keeps declining due to unwillingness on the part of investors to support music events and artistes with their resources.

In a recent disaccord between Chief Executive Officer Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah and Bank of Ghana regarding series of cautions to Menzgold Ghana Company Limited to desist from the act of deposit-taking, the hiplife group also added their voice, speaking in favour of Zylofon Media CEO.

The group in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, were disappointed in BoG for their continuous effort to drag the CEO of Zylofon Media into muddy waters.

Supporting Nana Appiah Mensah’s thought of investing into music, the hiplife duo expressed how the Ghanaian music industry has suffered in the past because individuals and corporate bodies have refused to invest in music.

Keche eulogized Nana Appiah Mensah for rescuing and financially supporting the ailing Ghana’s music industry with better structures.

“The music industry lacks investors. The CEO of Menzgold is doing a lot for the industry and for the youth. He is one investor we pray that God will give him the strength to do more for the industry.” Keche said

Keche is known to be one of the most consistent and versatile music groups in West Africa. Joshua is a rapper with the power of word play and Andrew is a songster with a silvery voice.

The BoG, in a public notice signed by Mrs Caroline Otoo, Secretary to Governor Dr Ernest Addison, said in spite of several of cautions to Menzgold Ghana Company Limited to desist from the act, it persists in its deposit-taking activity in breach of section 6(1) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).

The Central Bank has cautioned the general public that anyone who transacts “any of the above-mentioned businesses with Menzgold Ghana Company Limited does so at his or her own risk,” and the Bank of Ghana will not be liable in the event of loss of investments of deposits.

However, In a social media post, Nana Appiah has responded to BOG’s claim, describing them as propagadist

He wrote;

TODAY’s JOKE: Bank of Ghana, so now you dey do propaganda? I beg paa “Tell Ghanaians exactly what happened with the 5 or so collapsed banks you duly LICENSED & SUPERVISED for years. Please don’t attempt to use our dear Menzgold to cover up. I beg make we think!
