  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Movie producer Abdul Salam Mumuni sued $700,000 for movie ‘theft’.

Renowned Ghanaian movie producer, Abdul Salam Mumuni has been caught in the web of alleged movie theft and as a result, been sued by another company to the tune of $700,000.

MyNewsGh.com has learnt that Perfect Entertainment is laying claim to the movie titled ‘’Perfect Love’’ which they accuse the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Venus Films of allegedly stealing and selling to ROK TV, a channel on Multichoice, DSTV.

According to the originators of the movie under contention, he was reported to have sold the movie without their consent which is why they have sued him and making $700,000 demands.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Perfect Entertainment, Mr Nana Kwabena Adu Acheampong, on seeing the movie being screened, they contacted the CEO of Venus films in the person of Abdul Salam Mumuni who admitted selling the movie to ROK TV but is praying for an out of court settlement.

Checks by MyNewsGh.com reveals that a Kumasi high court is expected to sit on the case on Friday, August 24, 2018 though the petitioners are still open to negotiations on the deal.

A flier of the movie reveals characters like Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Juliet Ibrahim, Van Vicker, Kweku Manu, Prince David Osei among other casts.

GENERAL NEWS: Double Track System: Vacation classes to be held in churches – GES.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
