  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. WORLD NEWS: Trump says Nigerian President Buhari is 'lifeless' - Report.

US President Donald Trump reportedly told his aides he never wanted to meet someone as "lifeless" as Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari again.

Trump's remarks came after Buhari’s visit to the White House earlier this year, said a BBC report quoting Financial Times.

"Trump likes chemistry. Africa has never been high on his radar but if the big guy likes you he'll find a way to make things work," an unnamed source reportedly told the Financial Times ahead of a meeting between Trump and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday.

Buhari was the first sub-Saharan African president to visit Trump at the White House where Trump also reportedly managed to stir a few controversies during the meeting, according to BBC.

During their meeting Trump reportedly asked Buhari what the situation was with "that Boca Haram" referring to Boko Haram and also showed little understanding of the conflict between herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria, owing it only to a religious divide and a Christian genocide.

Trump has also angered many Africans over the past few months with his ignorance as he called some countries - including those on the African continent – "shithole" countries, his mispronunciation of Namibia as "Nambia" and the latest tweet weighing in on the matters of land ownership in South Africa.

GENERAL NEWS: Double Track System: Vacation classes to be held in churches – GES.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
