GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Fatima Dangote, husband spotted at their honeymoon.

Fatima, the daughter of Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, got married to Jamil Abubakar, the pilot son of a former Inspector General of Police.

The luxurious wedding held at the Eko Hotel in Lagos was attended by top dignitaries including Ghana's president, Nana Akufo-Addo and American billionaire Bill Gates, among others.

The marriage life of Fatima and Jamil has just begun as the two have spotted enjoying themselves at their honeymoon.

Photos of the lovebirds were shared on Instagram by popular Nigerian designer Jeremiah Ogbodo known as Swankyjerry.

Swankyjerry who was one of Fatima's designers for her wedding shared the a post on his Instagram, stating that the couple inspire him with their love.

He wrote: "Awwww Fatifati & Jamjam just know that your love story inspires me so amazing and so beautiful #famil2018 inspired... #love #honeymoon #islandlife #inspired."

The couple are believed to spending time on an exotic island.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
