GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Ghanaian actors are broke and hungry but they will never say it – Kwaku Manu reveals.

Outspoken Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has stated without mincing words that most of his colleague actors pretend to be rich in the eyes of the public.

The father of three in his recent interview on Angel TV disclosed that the dying movie industry is making most Ghanaian actors poor and hungry but they keep telling the world that they are moneyed.

Speaking on Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix show, Bob Siga argued that movie makers especially those seen on screens are not with deep pockets as the public think.

He maintained that no Ghanaian actor can be named among the rich men in the country so he cannot fathom most of them want to behave as billionaires.

To him, names like Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Nana Appiah Mensah, and many others hurriedly come to mind when asked to list rich men in the country but no actor’s name would be mentioned.

GENERAL NEWS: Double Track System: Vacation classes to be held in churches – GES.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
