GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Kafui Dey leaves EIB Network.

Broadcast journalist, Kafui dey has left media empire of the Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network, MyNewsGH.com has learnt.

MyNewsGh.com can report that Kafui Dey is the latest to have left the brand which recorded mass retrenchment last month as a result of what management say is part of internal growth path process that will see it become a world class media organization.

The former host of Who wants to Be Rich MyNewsGh.com confirmed left following the expiration of his contract.

EIB have said it was “awesome” having him around in a good designed approved by the management and shared by staff.

They say they specially remember his contribution to GhToday and MorningStarr.

Recently, some of network’s top brass broadcasters have either departed or had their contracts not renewed upon its expiration.

Kafui Dey joins the likes of Anita Erskine among Fiifi Banson others.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
