  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Let’s feel the promises – Shatta Wale to Akufo-Addo.

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has appealed to president Akufo-Addo to “speed up” with his policies aimed at transforming the economy.

Speaking to Giovanni Caleb on Starr Drive on Monday, the ‘Taking Over’ hit maker stated Ghanaians are “suffering” and it is about time politicians walked the talk.

“We’re suffering,” the controversial musician stressed.

“People are complaining,” Shatta Wale remarked to the president.

He added: “Let’s feel the promises on the ground. Walk the talk. Listen to us. We’re suffering.”

The ‘Gringo’ singer suggested to the handlers of Nana Addo to give ordinary Ghanaians the chance to confer with the president to know more about happenings in society.

He was optimistic president Akufo-Addo will deliver, hoping his appointees will live up to expectations.

Charles Nii Amarh Mensah Jnr, as he is known in private life, was in the studio to speak about his new album yet-to-be launched on October 13, 2018 at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair.

“I have 17 tracks on the album.. We are targeting the whole of Africa so we are being very strategic with the album,” he said.

“The whole idea behind Shatta Wale is to channel things to the youth … And my team is always supportive backing my every move,” the 2014 Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’ winner said.

He said he will continue to support society, calling on corporate Ghana to also support the needy.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
