  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. Wiyaala has acknowledged the significant part that reality show Vodafone Ghana Icons contributed to her flourishing career on BBC Radio London’s popular Sunday morning show “Inspirit with Jumoke Fashola”.

The Sissala songstress had joined Kenneth Olumuyiwa Tharp CBE, CEO of The Africa Centre in London to promote the upcoming annual Africa Summer Festival at which she will be performing. 

As well as relating her Vodafone Icons experience, an effervescent Wiyaala charmed her distinguished host Jumoke Fashola with a live performance and hilarious banter about her humble origins.

The Africa Centre Summer Festival brings together the best of African and Diaspora culture to the streets of Central London. It is the largest African festival in the UK, fusing music, dance, food and fashion from across the UK, Africa & the Diaspora. 

This year’s festival takes place in Great Suffolk Street London SE1, with three stages and features acts from all over Africa and the UK diaspora.
