GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:I don't smoke; I did it for fun - Mzbel denies reports.

Songstress Mzbel has finally reacted to the allegation that she was smoking a substance believed to be wee in a video she posted herself on Instasnap days back. 

The musician who was on Gh One TV to promote her visuals for Tongues song said the substance she was inhaling in the Instasnap video was not wee but a cigarette. 

Nana Akua Amoah as she is known in real life further made it known during the interview that she does not smoke. 

According to her, the very day she captured the video and uploaded it on Instagram was her first time trying such an act and it was done purposely for fun. 

Mzbel told the show host that professional smokers would know that she was just goofing around with what she was exhibiting in the video because that was not how the act is performed.

Telling how it all started, Mzbel in the interview zionfelix.net watched said her friends were smoking so she took the cigarette to make fun of them and decided to record the action.

GENERAL NEWS: Double Track System: Vacation classes to be held in churches – GES.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
