GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: Pastor Chris Oyakilome's daughter marries Ghanaian businessman.

Daughter of popular Nigerian miracle worker, Pastor Chris has tied the knot with her long-term Ghanaian boyfriend at a colourful ceremony in Nigeria on Thursday. 

Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome who is the first daughter among Pastor Chris' children got engaged to the Ghanaian businessman named Philip Frimpong. 

Carissa is a UK based gospel artiste and the first of Chris Oyakhilome’s daughters with his ex-wife Anita. 

The interesting love story began several years ago when the couple met in the UK.

The holistic engagement was marked with merrymaking and excitement as popular minister of the word from both Ghana and beyond graced the occasion. 

Members of Christ Embassy, including popular singer Sinach, were present at the lavish affair. 

The astounding white wedding is set to take place in Nigeria at the headquarters of Christ Embassy this weekend and would be officiated by the renowned global evangelist, Benny Hynn.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
