GENERAL NEWS: Akufo-Addo to firm-up school reopening after Cabinet meeting on December 30

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  is receiving briefings from  COVID-19  Technical Taskforce on limited school re-openings and would make a firm decision on school reopening in January 2021 after a Cabinet meeting on December 30, 2020. Addressing a news conference in Accra on  COVID-19  Updates on Tuesday, Information Minister,  Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , said the  COVID-19  Taskforce would work throughout the Christmas period to brief the President and analyse the impact of the  COVID-19  pandemic on students, during the limited school re-openings in July, August, September, and October, this year. Government in July allowed final year students in the tertiary education institutions to complete their semester courses and wrote their exit examinations. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: MzVee and Lynx Entertainment finally part ways.

Singer MzVee and record label Lynx Entertainment have ended their eight-year relationship.

After MzVee went off the grid and took a sabbatical from active music, there were rumours that her relationship with members at the label has gone sour.

Others claimed the singer had gotten pregnant, went on a break to focus on herself and giving birth.

However, in a press release signed by the ‘Daavi’ hitmaker, she only went on the “much-deserved break” to re-energise, get in touch with herself and redesign her artistic expression.
“These eight years with Lynx Entertainment have been absolutely delightful and a blessing and I am glad we still hold our relationship,” she had written.

She added that Lynx Entertainment will always be a strong pillar in her career hence although both parties have decided to part ways, they will amicably continue support for each other.

Lynx Entertainment also in a press release said they were proud to have watched MzVee grow into the woman she is now and wishes her the best.

GENERAL NEWS: Double Track System: Vacation classes to be held in churches – GES.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will organise extra classes to augment the regular double track system so that students on vacation can be engaged while they wait their turn to go to school.  Deputy Public Relations Officer of GES, Isaac Asiedu Odei disclosed to TV3 that the extra classes will be held in church halls, community centers and private schools across the country for students on vacation.  He explained that some church halls and community centres are already being used for extra classes as such the ministry will take advantage of the situation.  “You know we have a lot of church halls or community centres…it’s a temporary kind of structure and you know people are organising classes in some of these structures already and we can even take advantage of some private schools, when they close we can also go in there,” he explained.  Mr. Odei also disclosed that government is going to place about four teachers in “every district or...
